Qingdao manager gives his opinions feelings of last season and expectations for this season

“Last season promised so much with us reaching the quarter finals of the Interwing Cup where we eventually went out to Cardiff City 2-1, I was very disappointed to go out but I was very proud of my side to have got to the quarter finals. This season I would like to think that the side can go a little further and you never know maybe even win it.

The FA Cup saw us lose out to River Plate in the final, again this season I can see no reason why we can’t do the same again this season although this time going that little bit further and winning it although with any cup competition all it can take is a little slip and you’re out.

The league held the most frustration for me last season having been champions the season before I expected the lads to go on and take the league by the scruff of the neck. We did start the season very well and stormed to the top scoring goals for fun at the end of the first month, although an indifferent second month saw us lack any kind of consistency. This seemed to be the pattern for the rest of the season.

This season I expect the lads to show far more consistency and I expect us to be challenging for top spot and I see no reason why we can’t win this league we have the players and we have the depth.

To conclude we have I league championship trophy in our cabinet, I want us to have a cabinet full of silverware and I won’t stop until we do.”

R_Sakim looks to be on his way out of DC United after a training Ground spat with manager Adam Pyke.

Pyke, who is building for next season made his feelings for Sakim known after he turbned up late and has not come on in the leaps and bounds that Pyke had hoped. There are a few rumours that a deal has already been done but no one at DC has yet made a statement.

Other reports claim that he is in contract negotiations with an an-named European club regarding a possible move. More news as it happens.

Sao Paulo manager is full of the joys of spring, as the team came back into full training. No new players joined the Boys from Brazil, although it was not from the want of trying. From speaking to Mark, it seems he banged on a lot of doors, during the close season, but couldn't get anyone sell any of their players. Any offers, I made where met with the other team wanting the crown jewels from Sao Paulo, and that was never going to happen.

Leslie is hoping that this season, they can avoid, injuries to their key players, which have cost them, over the past two seasons, they really should have won the league on at least one occasion. But as they say third time lucky.

The team have been working on some new formations, and tactics, and some players, will be tried out in new positions, throughout the forthcoming season.

Looking forward to the first game against Paul and it should be a good one, hopefully, it will be mean, that has come up with a new and strange tactic, that they do not expect. Paul usually has a few up his sleeve....

Qingdao Zhongneng managers pre season training interview

The Qingdao players returned to pre season training earlier this week with many people expecting manager Paul Weare to unveil a number of new faces; none have been forthcoming so far.

We managed to get an interview with him and this is what he had to say: .

When asked about about transfers or the lack of them, Paul had this to say:

“I have been looking around all three leagues and have spoken to a number of managers but so far I have been unable to successfully recruit anyone who I feel will strengthen the side significantly. I will continue to look and if I find a suitable player then I will attempt to bring him to the club but I will not pay over the odds for anyone nor will I weaken my side."

When asked about pre season training, Paul had this to say:

“Pre season training has gone very well so far with several players benefiting from the experience:

The defence has seen Fyfe, Perez, Iniesta improve on their tackling and Jie improve both his tacking and passing.

Jo and Landzaat have shown improvements to their shooting prowess; and Nakamura has seen his passing and shooting skills improve.”

With the season winding down, DC United are already looking to add new faces for next season, with 2 defenders a midfielder and a striker on the shopping list, a few reports claim that one of DC's youth players will be promoted and scouts will be sent out while a tabloid newspaper claims that DC have agreed 3 deals already.

1 deal that has been completed is the permanaent signing of A_Carabali from Independiente Santa Fe after a succesful loan period.

More transfer news at it happens.
